Best time to go on safari

Shambala Private Game Reserve is ideally situated in the malariafree Waterberg mountains of the Limpopo Province and is a year round destination.

In Winter
The winter months from April to October are traditionally considered the best time for game viewing as the grass is shorter and there is less foliage on the trees.

In Summer
During the summer months the bush is green and lush and the game reserve comes to life with abundant young animals.

Once in a lifetime experiences

The elephant, buffalo, black and white rhino, lion and leopard were originally named the Big Five due to the significant challenge and potential danger that they presented to hunters. They symbolise the ultimate in African wildlife and are associated with a true game-viewing experience. Only the sleek, shy leopard with its nocturnal habits and inaccessible habitat may sometimes elude the visitor.
